Ghanaian forward Andrew Tetteh has been named the Greek Super League Player of the Week after his outstanding performance for Panathinaikos on matchday three.
The Athens-born striker scored twice as the Greek giants secured an impressive 3-1 victory over PAOK, playing a key role in the Greens’ dominant display.
Tetteh received the highest number of votes to win the individual award, finishing ahead of compatriot Kwadwo Opoku “Mahala” of Panetolikos.
Opoku placed third in the voting, behind AEK Athens’ Barnabas Vargas, while OFI duo Andreas Bouchalakis and Thanasis Androutsos completed the top five.
Tetteh has made an impressive start to the new Super League campaign, scoring two goals in his opening two appearances. One of his strikes has also been nominated for the Goal of the Week award.
The powerful forward has been rewarded for his excellent form with a place in Panathinaikos’ squad for their trip to his former club Kifisia on Thursday, September 10.
Tetteh joined Panathinaikos in January on a three-year contract and has quickly established himself as an important figure in the club’s attacking setup.
His latest individual accolade further underlines his growing influence as he continues to make his mark in Greek football.
