Bibiani GoldStars narrowly missed out on the league title to Medeama, who were crowned champions by a two-point margin. The Miners will therefore be looking to build on last season’s impressive campaign as they begin another title challenge.
Both clubs have made notable changes ahead of the new season, including additions to their playing squads and technical teams.
Bechem United have brought back Francis Acquah during the transfer window, while Dennis Modzaka has also joined the club on a two-year contract. Mohammed Bashar Ogba has been appointed to lead the former FA Cup winners into the new campaign.
GoldStars, meanwhile, have strengthened their attack with the signing of experienced striker Kwame Poku, the prolific former Asante Kotoko forward. The Miners will be coached by Petros Koukouras this season.

Bechem United, however, have traditionally been a difficult side to beat at home. GoldStars are among the few teams to have secured a victory at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, adding another intriguing element to what promises to be a closely contested season opener.
