Ghana’s Black Maidens have completed their final training session ahead of their opening fixture against Burkina Faso at the WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup of Nations.
The tournament opener is scheduled for Tuesday at 18:00 local time at the Stade CKB in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
All 20 players took part in the final training session, which focused on tactical organisation, set-piece routines and sharpening the team’s match readiness ahead of the crucial encounter.
Head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa also used the session to assess the players’ fitness levels and make final decisions regarding his starting line-up for the tournament opener.
Ghana will compete alongside Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Togo, Niger and hosts Côte d’Ivoire in a round-robin format following Benin’s withdrawal from the competition.
The Black Maidens are aiming to successfully defend the title they won during the inaugural edition of the WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup.
With preparations now complete, Ghana will shift their full attention to Tuesday’s clash as they begin their title defence and quest for another successful campaign in the competition.
