The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially endorsed FIFA's position following the withdrawal of the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal.
During its latest meeting, the CAF Executive Committee unanimously supported the joint statement issued by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström, in which FIFA acknowledged that mistakes had been made during the FFE process and confirmed that the proposal had been officially withdrawn.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe reaffirmed the Confederation's commitment to advancing football across the continent, stressing that the organisation will remain focused on its long-term development priorities.
These priorities include:
Strengthening good governance, transparency, and robust auditing practices.
Developing players, coaches, referees, and national teams across Africa.
Enhancing the quality and competitiveness of African domestic leagues and CAF competitions.
Improving stadiums and football infrastructure throughout the continent.
Successfully preparing for major tournaments, including the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
CAF also reiterated its full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and expressed appreciation to FIFA for its continued investment and commitment to the growth of African football.
The Confederation emphasized that its overarching objective remains clear: to make African football one of the strongest and most successful football ecosystems in the world.
