Ghana international Ernest Nuamah has been rewarded for his outstanding performance in Olympique Lyonnais’ 3-1 victory over Auxerre, earning a place in L’Équipe’s Team of the Week.
Nuamah was instrumental in Lyon’s victory, providing the assist for Felix Bacher’s opener before scoring a superb goal himself in the 53rd minute to seal the win.
The 22-year-old was a constant threat throughout his 67 minutes on the pitch, using his pace, direct running and movement to cause problems for the Auxerre defence.
His performance also marked an important moment in his return to top form after a lengthy injury layoff. L’Équipe highlighted his renewed explosiveness, while his display earned him an 8/10 rating and recognition among the weekend’s standout players.
For Ghana, Nuamah’s resurgence is particularly encouraging. A confident and fully fit Nuamah gives the Black Stars another dangerous attacking option capable of stretching defences and producing decisive moments in the final third. 🇬🇭⚡
The comeback is gathering momentum. 👏🔥
