FC Samartex have set their sights on winning the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League title, with General Manager Edmund Ackah revealing that lifting the trophy is the club’s top priority for the new season.
The Timber Boys, who were crowned Ghana Premier League champions three seasons ago, finished fifth in the previous campaign with 50 points.
With the new league season scheduled to begin in September, Samartex are determined to mount a serious title challenge while also making a strong impression in the GHALCA Top Four tournament.
“Our priority is to win the Ghana Premier League and do well next season, but we are also aiming to perform well in the GHALCA Top Four tournament,” Ackah told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.
Samartex have already intensified their preparations for the upcoming campaign, featuring in the Nsenkyire Cup as part of their pre-season build-up.
The club will now shift its focus to the GHALCA Top Four tournament, which kicks off today at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Samartex will officially begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign on Sunday, September 6, when they host or travel to face Karela United.
The Timber Boys will be hoping their preparations translate into strong performances as they pursue another league title and seek to re-establish themselves among Ghana’s top clubs.
