FIFA and CAF have suspended the ongoing Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) electoral process as they assess the developing crisis within the federation.
The decision follows the resignations of the NFF President, members of the Executive Committee and the General Secretary.
For now, FIFA and CAF have instructed that:
⏸️ The NFF electoral process is suspended until further notice.
🚫 No further actions or decisions should be taken in relation to the election.
📞 The NFF Deputy General Secretary has been designated as the main point of contact between the NFF, FIFA and CAF.
🔎 FIFA and CAF will carry out a comprehensive legal, governance, administrative and electoral assessment of the situation.
🇳🇬 A joint FIFA-CAF assessment mission will travel to Abuja at the earliest opportunity.
🤝 The mission is expected to meet NFF administrators, federation members, electoral bodies and representatives of the Nigerian Federal Government, including the National Sports Commission (NSC).
⚖️ FIFA and CAF have stressed that no decision has yet been made regarding possible sanctions or further measures.
The situation remains under close review as FIFA and CAF work to determine the appropriate way forward for Nigerian football.
