The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to introduce the GFA Colts Awards for the first time as part of the 2026/27 Colts football season.
The new awards scheme was announced by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during the official launch of the new Colts season, as the Association seeks to give greater recognition to individuals and clubs contributing to the development of grassroots football across the country.
The inaugural awards will honour outstanding players, coaches, clubs, officials and other key stakeholders whose contributions continue to support the growth and development of Colts football in Ghana.
The initiative is expected to add a new dimension to the Colts football calendar by celebrating achievements at the grassroots level and shining a spotlight on those playing important roles in nurturing young football talents.
The introduction of the awards forms part of the GFA’s broader efforts to increase the visibility and importance of Colts football while encouraging players, coaches, clubs and officials to maintain their commitment to grassroots development.
The GFA Colts Awards will consequently provide a platform to recognise and celebrate individuals and clubs making notable contributions to the development of young footballers and the wider grassroots football system in Ghana.
