The Director of Sports of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Bernice Rashidatu Abdulai Timbilla, on Friday, 4th September 2026, held an engagement with members of the Ghana Police Hockey Technical Team at the Sports Unit as preparations intensify towards the upcoming SESSA Games.
The meeting focused on strengthening the team’s preparations and ensuring that the Hockey Team is adequately equipped and positioned to represent the Ghana Police Service with distinction at the Games.
One of the key areas discussed was the need for official tracksuits for the team. In this regard, the Sports Unit and the Technical Team are exploring sponsorship opportunities and strategic partnerships with corporate organisations, individuals, philanthropists and other well-wishers to help meet this important requirement.
In a show of commitment and support for the team, No. 50620 Sgt. Herbert Angel Aryee donated GH₵1,000.00 towards the Hockey Team’s preparations for the SESSA Games.
The Director of Sports expressed her sincere appreciation to Sgt. Aryee for his generous contribution, noting that such gestures demonstrate the spirit of teamwork and collective responsibility needed to build a stronger and more competitive Police Sports team.
She further encouraged other individuals, organisations and well-wishers to come on board and support the Hockey Team as it prepares to proudly represent the Ghana Police Service at the SESSA Games.
The Ghana Police Sports Unit remains committed to creating the right environment and providing the necessary support to enable its athletes and teams to prepare effectively, compete strongly and achieve success at the Games.
