Belgium-born Ghanaian midfielder Desmond Ofori Acquah has completed a move to Azerbaijani Premier League club Kapaz PFK.
The 24-year-old has joined Kapaz from Belgian outfit FCV Dender, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the season.
Acquah’s arrival is expected to strengthen Kapaz’s midfield options as the club prepares for the new campaign. He will also link up with fellow Ghanaian Asumah Abubakar, who joined the Azerbaijani side during the summer transfer window.
Kapaz confirmed the signing through an official announcement, welcoming the midfielder to the club.
“Welcome Desmond Acquah. Kapaz, which continues its transfer efforts, has strengthened its squad with another footballer. Our team has completed the transfer of Desmond Acquah. A contract was signed with the Belgian midfielder until the end of the season,” the club announced.
“Last season, the 24-year-old footballer played for Dender in Belgium, scoring two goals in 15 appearances across all competitions.”
Born in Belgium, Acquah began his football journey with Diegem Youth before moving to OH Leuven, where he continued his development.
He later joined Dender and spent two years with the Belgian club before making the move abroad to Azerbaijan.
Acquah will now look to make an immediate impact at Kapaz and help the club achieve its objectives in the Azerbaijani Premier League.
