Highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Dixon Mohammed has completed a loan move to Israeli second-tier club Hapoel Afula for the 2026/27 season.
The 18-year-old midfielder joins Hapoel Afula from Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa, with the move expected to provide him with valuable first-team experience and increased playing time as he continues his development.
Hapoel Afula officially announced the signing, expressing confidence in the youngster’s potential.
“Welcome Dixon! The 18-year-old midfielder has signed with the club on loan from Maccabi Haifa through Stari Player Agency. Dixon Mohammed, brother of Maccabi Haifa star Ali Mohammed, is considered a player with great potential, and we believe he will showcase his abilities with us. Good luck, Dixon,” the club posted.
Mohammed moved to Israel this summer with ambitions of carving out a successful career in the country and following in the footsteps of his senior brother, Ali Mohammed, who has established himself as a key figure at Maccabi Haifa.
The teenage midfielder will now look to make the most of his loan spell at Hapoel Afula by gaining regular playing time and further developing his skills in the Israeli Liga Leumit.
Mohammed could make his competitive debut for Hapoel Afula against Maccabi Bnei Reineh on Thursday, September 10, as the club continues its campaign in the Israeli second tier.
The loan move represents another important step in the youngster’s development as he looks to establish himself in professional football.
