Heart of Lions and Swedru All Blacks will face off at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Saturday, with both sides looking to strengthen their Ghana Premier League campaigns.
For Heart of Lions, the objective is clear: secure their first victory of the season.
The Lions have picked up just one point from their opening two matches, drawing one and losing one. Their latest outing ended in defeat to Asante Kotoko, leaving the Kpando-based side determined to respond in front of their home supporters.
Swedru All Blacks, meanwhile, arrive in the Volta Region with renewed confidence after recording a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Debibi United last weekend.
The Black Magicians will be hoping to build on that result and make it back-to-back victories. However, their recent away record suggests they could face a difficult test, having won two and lost two of their last four league matches on the road.
Recent head-to-head history also offers Heart of Lions some encouragement. The two teams have met twice since November 2025, with the Lions recording one victory while the other encounter ended in a draw.
Their most recent meeting in March saw Heart of Lions claim a 1-0 victory.
Goals have been scarce for both sides at the start of the new campaign. Heart of Lions have scored just once and conceded twice, while All Blacks have also found the net only once and conceded one goal.
With little separating the teams statistically, Saturday’s encounter could be decided by which side manages the pressure better and makes the most of its opportunities in front of goal.
