German-Ghanaian centre-back Hendry Blank has completed a loan move to German second-tier side Greuther Fürth from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
The 22-year-old defender officially joined the 2. Bundesliga outfit on September 1, 2026, and will remain with the club until June 30, 2027, when his loan spell is scheduled to end.
The move marks a return to German football for Blank, who spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Hannover 96. He joined Hannover from Salzburg on July 1, 2025, before returning to the Austrian club at the end of the season.
Blank now begins another temporary spell in Germany as he looks to secure regular playing time and continue his development at Greuther Fürth.
Born in Reutlingen, the 1.90-metre left-footed defender primarily operates at centre-back and holds both German and Ghanaian nationalities.
Salzburg signed Blank from Borussia Dortmund II for a reported €4 million on February 1, 2024. Before making the step up to Dortmund’s reserve team, he developed through the club’s youth ranks after joining from Bayer Leverkusen’s academy in 2019.
During his time with Borussia Dortmund’s youth setup, Blank enjoyed considerable success, winning three German U-19 Bundesliga titles. He was part of the Dortmund U19 side that won the German U-19 Bundesliga West championship in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, while also claiming the national U-19 Bundesliga title in 2021/22.
His latest move to Greuther Fürth represents another important chapter in his developing career, with the defender returning to Germany after gaining experience in both Austrian and German football.
Blank's contract with Salzburg runs until June 30, 2027, which coincides with the scheduled conclusion of his loan spell at Greuther Fürth.
