Côte d’Ivoire head coach Hervé Renard is facing a number of injury concerns ahead of his first squad announcement since returning to the helm of the Elephants.
Renard is expected to name his squad on Wednesday for Côte d’Ivoire’s upcoming international fixtures, including their crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana on September 24.
Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singo is a major doubt for the encounter after picking up a thigh injury and seeing limited playing time since the start of the season.
Simon Adingra is another concern for the Ivorian coach. The winger recently joined Ajax on a season-long loan but is yet to regain full fitness. He is reportedly expected to require another two to three weeks before returning to full training.
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is also racing against time after suffering an ankle injury that has kept him out of competitive action.
Renard will closely monitor the fitness of all three players before making a final decision on whether to include them in his squad for the meeting with Ghana.
The Elephants will host the Black Stars on September 24 before travelling to face Somalia five days later. Côte d’Ivoire will then take on Cameroon in an international friendly on October 3.
Ghana will be hoping Singo, Adingra and Diallo remain unavailable as the Black Stars prepare for what promises to be a crucial 2027 AFCON qualifying encounter in Abidjan.
