Ghana international midfielder Iddrisu Baba has officially completed his move to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Spanish side UD Almería.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the Serbian powerhouse, bringing an end to his three-year spell in Spain and opening a new chapter in his European career.
Baba joined Almería in 2023 after an impressive spell with RCD Mallorca, where he established himself as a reliable presence in midfield.
The Ghanaian played a key role in Mallorca’s promotion to La Liga before going on to become a regular figure in the Spanish top flight.
He leaves Spain with considerable experience at the highest level, having made more than 150 La Liga appearances for Mallorca and Almería combined.
Renowned for his combative approach, ball-winning ability and tactical discipline, Baba has developed a reputation as a hardworking and dependable defensive midfielder.
Partizan have identified his experience in Spanish football as a valuable addition to their midfield as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The move also gives Baba an opportunity to compete for domestic honours while potentially featuring in European competition with one of Serbia’s most successful and decorated clubs.
