Liberian-Ghanaian defender Jamal Arago has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Indian club Samaleswari SC, with the experienced centre-back attracting interest following his spell in the Libyan Premier League.
Arago, 33, is currently contracted to Libyan side Al-Ta’awon, whom he joined from Kosovo outfit SC Gjilani on September 26, 2025, in a move completed without a transfer fee.
The left-footed defender has made 15 appearances in Libya’s Premier League since joining the club and previously featured 17 times in Saudi Arabia’s First Division League.
Arago has also enjoyed an extensive spell in Kosovo, where he made 107 appearances in the country’s top flight, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
Born in Accra, the 1.85m-tall defender has a footballing background connected to both Liberia and Ghana. His career has taken him across several countries, with previous spells in Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Finland and Greece.
Samaleswari SC’s reported interest comes as Arago’s current market value is estimated at €100,000. However, no details have emerged regarding a potential transfer fee, contract length or personal terms.
For now, Arago remains an Al-Ta’awon player, with any potential move to India yet to be confirmed.
Should the transfer materialise, the experienced defender would bring considerable international and top-flight experience to Samaleswari SC as he enters the next chapter of his career.
