Ghanaian centre-back James Asante has joined Romanian club CS Vulturii from Gilortul on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old completed the move on 27 August 2026, continuing his career in Romanian football after spending less than two months with Gilortul.
Asante joined Gilortul from CS Drobeta on 1 July 2026, also on a free transfer. His latest move marks his fourth club change since March 2025, with all of his recorded transfers completed without a transfer fee.
Before his brief spell at Gilortul, Asante spent the 2025/26 season with CS Drobeta, having joined the club from M. Lupeni on 9 September 2025. He had previously moved from Semper Fi FC to M. Lupeni in March 2025.
The 1.85-metre defender has featured in Romanian domestic competitions, including two appearances in the Romanian Cup, where he accumulated 210 minutes, as well as one Liga 3 Play-Off appearance.
Born in Koforidua, Ghana, on 10 June 2003, Asante operates primarily as a centre-back and will now provide CS Vulturii with another option in central defence.
His move to CS Vulturii continues his rapid progression through the Romanian football system, having represented several clubs in the country over the past 18 months.
Asante will now look to settle quickly at his new club and make his mark in his latest chapter of Romanian football.
