Ghanaian-French forward Jordan Ayew has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Cypriot giants APOEL Nicosia, with the experienced striker currently available as a free agent.
The 34-year-old became unattached on July 1, 2026, following his departure from Leicester City after just one season with the Premier League side.
Ayew joined Leicester from Crystal Palace in August 2024 in a reported €5.9 million deal and has since been linked with a move away from England as he considers the next chapter of his career.
The veteran forward was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making four appearances and starting all of the Black Stars’ matches. He played approximately 84 percent of Ghana’s available minutes during the tournament but finished the competition without a goal or assist.
Ayew boasts an impressive career record in European football, particularly in England and France. He has made 305 Premier League appearances, scoring 42 goals and providing 25 assists, while also recording 159 Ligue 1 appearances, with 31 goals to his name.
He began his senior career with Olympique de Marseille, where he established himself as an important attacking player and enjoyed considerable success.
During his time in France, Ayew won the Ligue 1 title in the 2009/10 season, as well as three Coupe de la Ligue titles and two Trophée des Champions trophies with Marseille.
His wealth of experience at the highest level could make him an attractive option for APOEL as the Cypriot club considers strengthening its attacking options.
However, there is currently no reported probability attached to the proposed transfer, while details regarding a potential contract, salary or signing terms remain undisclosed.
For now, Ayew remains a free agent, with APOEL Nicosia reportedly among the clubs monitoring his situation.
