Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Championship side Blackburn Rovers as the experienced striker searches for a new club.
The 34-year-old became a free agent on July 1 after leaving Leicester City following one season at the club. Ayew joined Leicester from Crystal Palace in August 2024 for a reported €5.9 million and is now being considered for a possible return to the Championship.
Blackburn are understood to be assessing their options in attack, with Ayew's experience in English football potentially making him an attractive option for the club.
Ayew featured four times for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting all four matches and playing 84 percent of the available minutes. However, he was unable to register either a goal or an assist during the tournament.
Born in Marseille, France, Ayew began his senior career with Olympique Marseille before establishing himself as a regular in English football. He has represented Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City during his career.
The veteran forward has made 305 Premier League appearances, scoring 42 goals, while also featuring 63 times in the Championship and finding the net on eight occasions.
During his time at Marseille, Ayew enjoyed considerable success, winning the French Ligue 1 title, three Coupe de la Ligue trophies and two French Super Cups.
His current market value is estimated at €1 million.
While Blackburn's reported interest could offer Ayew an opportunity to continue his career in England, the proposed move remains a rumour, with no agreement, contract terms or transfer fee confirmed.
As a free agent following his departure from Leicester, Ayew is available to join a new club as he considers the next chapter of his long and distinguished career.
