Hearts of Oak head coach Karel Nebojsa is determined to keep his side's winning momentum going after the Phobians made an impressive start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Accra giants opened their campaign in emphatic fashion, cruising to a 4-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday.
The commanding result was particularly significant for Hearts of Oak, as it ended a six-year wait for a victory in their opening league fixture.
Nebojsa was pleased with his team's performance and believes the Phobians can build on the strong start as the season progresses.
“The feeling is good. We are very happy with our opener, and I am sure we will continue this path,” the coach said after the match.
The comprehensive victory also lifted Hearts of Oak to the top of the Ghana Premier League table after the opening round of fixtures.
However, Nebojsa knows his team face a tougher test in their next assignment when they travel to take on Bibiani GoldStars this weekend.
The Serbian coach has urged his players to remain composed and focused as they look to make it two wins from two matches.
“We have to be calm and start preparing for our next game. We will face GoldStars with the full force of our power,” he added.
Hearts will now aim to carry their impressive opening-day form into their trip to Bibiani as they seek to maintain their position at the summit and establish themselves as early contenders for the Premier League title.
