German-born Ghanaian forward Kevin Nyarko has completed a move to Romanian Liga 2 side Politehnica Timisoara, joining from Swedish Superettan club Helsingborgs IF.
The 24-year-old attacker arrives in Romania after an impressive spell with Helsingborg, where he recorded three goals and three assists in 18 appearances between March and August.
Nyarko brings valuable experience from spells across England, Germany, Finland and Sweden, having previously featured for clubs including Fortuna Köln.
Speaking after completing his move, Nyarko expressed his excitement about beginning a new chapter with Politehnica Timisoara.
“I am delighted to have signed with Poli. I am excited to be here and to walk this path with all of you. I have heard many good things about the club and its history and I am ready to play for this team. I hope we will have many more memorable moments in the future!”
The forward is regarded as an important addition to a Politehnica Timisoara side with ambitions of securing promotion to Romania’s top flight.
Club general director Dinu Bara revealed that Nyarko was a difficult player to secure but fits perfectly into the club’s recruitment strategy and the head coach’s tactical plans.
“It was a busy period, a period in which we worked efficiently and coherently on transfers. Today we close this period with the transfer of Kevin, a player who was not easy for us to bring in because he has a complex profile and fits perfectly into the pattern required by the coach. But we managed to do this,” Bara said.
Bara also praised Helsingborg for agreeing to the transfer and acknowledged the efforts of Nyarko’s representatives and Politehnica Timisoara’s scouting department.
He specifically highlighted Alex Pilder, the club’s first-team head scout, for monitoring Nyarko for several months and helping establish the connection that ultimately led to the deal.
With the transfer now completed, Nyarko will be hoping to make a strong impact in Romania and play a key role in Politehnica Timisoara’s promotion ambitions.
