Medeama SC will begin their Ghana Premier League title defence with a trip to Tema New Town to face Vision FC in an intriguing Matchday Three encounter on Saturday.
The Mauve and Yellow return to domestic action after their 2026/27 CAF Champions League campaign ended at the qualification stage following a defeat to DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.
With two league matches in hand, Medeama can now turn their full attention to the domestic campaign as they begin their title defence on the road.
The Tarkwa-based side can draw confidence from their impressive away record last season. Medeama finished as the second-best away team in the league, recording five wins, seven draws and five defeats from 17 matches.
Their recent record against Vision FC has been evenly split, with their previous two league visits to the Tema-based side producing one victory and one defeat.
Vision FC, meanwhile, will welcome the defending champions to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex looking to respond to their first defeat of the season.
The hosts will also be seeking revenge for their previous home defeat to Medeama, having suffered a 2-1 loss at the same venue. Salim Adams was the difference on that occasion, scoring a sensational brace for the champions.
Vision FC made a perfect start to the campaign before their impressive run came to an end with a 3-1 away defeat to newly promoted FC Ashantigold 04.
The result brought an end to their four-match winning streak, and they will now hope to use home advantage to return to winning ways.
Vision FC will also be targeting back-to-back home victories at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex for the first time since earning promotion to the Ghana Premier League in the 2024/25 season.
Medeama, meanwhile, will be eager to make a strong statement as they begin the defence of their league crown.
