Medeama Sporting Club secured a 2-0 victory over Etoile Filante on Monday afternoon in their second game of the 2026 Nsenkyire Cup.
The Ghana Premier League champions are using the pre-season tournament as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, with head coach Ibrahim Tanko continuing to fine-tune his squad.
The Yellow and Mauves dominated proceedings for long periods and produced a solid performance to record their first win of the competition.
Young attacker Dominic Amponsah opened the scoring in the 19th minute, giving Medeama a deserved advantage before the break.
Medeama continued to control the game after the restart and eventually doubled their lead in the 65th minute through Emmanuel Annor, who produced a fine finish to put the result beyond doubt.
The victory comes after Medeama began their Nsenkyire Cup campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Aduana FC. The result against Etoile Filante therefore provides a timely boost as the Tarkwa-based side continues its pre-season preparations.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his players will now look to build on the positive performance as they prepare for a demanding 2026/27 season.
Medeama will be aiming to defend their domestic success while also representing Ghana on the continental stage in the CAF Champions League.
