DG-CID and Police Ladies FC CEO Commends Team for Recent Successes
The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (DG-CID) and Chief Executive Officer of Police Ladies FC, COP Mrs. Lydia Yaako Donkor, has commended the team for its recent achievements and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the club’s continued growth and development.
During an interaction with the players and technical officials at the CID Headquarters, COP Mrs. Donkor congratulated the team on winning the maiden Democracy Cup and securing another impressive victory over Army Ladies FC at the Mini SESSA Games.
She explained that although official engagements had prevented her from attending some of the team’s recent activities, she had closely followed their progress and was delighted by their performances and achievements.
As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement, the DG-CID presented gifts and a cash donation to the team in recognition of the players’ hard work, discipline, dedication and recent successes.
COP Mrs. Donkor also warmly welcomed the new players into the Police Ladies FC family, urging the entire playing body to remain disciplined, hardworking, committed and focused as they pursue further success.
She reminded the players that they represent not only Police Ladies FC but also the values, professionalism and image of the Ghana Police Service.
The CEO further assured the team of her continued support as they prepare for upcoming competitions and work towards achieving greater success.
The engagement was attended by ASP Benjamin Amissah, Sports Security Officer, alongside team officials and players.
The Ghana Police Sports Unit expressed appreciation to the DG-CID and CEO of Police Ladies FC for her leadership and continued support towards the development, welfare and success of the team.

The Ghana Police Sports Unit has received a set of jerseys for the Ghana Police Men’s Basketball Team, generously presented by OneUp Sports and Clockwork as part of their support towards the development and promotion of basketball within the Ghana Police Service.
The presentation took place on Friday, 21st August 2026, at the National Police Headquarters in Accra.
Receiving the jerseys on behalf of the Ghana Police Service, the Director-General/Welfare, COP Mr. Eric Winful, expressed appreciation to OneUp Sports and Clockwork for their thoughtful gesture and commitment to supporting sports development. He encouraged them to continue contributing towards initiatives that create opportunities for athletes to develop and excel.
Also present at the presentation were the Director of Sports, ASP Ms. Bernice Timbilla; ASP Mr. Benjamin Amissah; members of the Police Basketball technical team; and representatives of the Police Men’s Basketball Team.
