English-Ghanaian attacker Samuel Amo-Ameyaw made a memorable impact in Ligue 1, scoring twice as RC Strasbourg secured an emphatic 6-2 victory over Troyes at the Stade de l’Aube.
Amo-Ameyaw was introduced in the 63rd minute and wasted little time making his presence felt, scoring in the 85th and 88th minutes to cap a superb individual cameo.
Strasbourg had already established a commanding lead before the winger entered the game. Jacobo Ortega and Giovanni Reyna struck in the first half before Diogo Lobao extended the advantage early after the break.
Troyes managed to respond through Antoine Mille and Jeremy Le Douaron, but Strasbourg remained firmly in control. Amo-Ameyaw then delivered the decisive finishing touch with his late brace before Conrad Harder added a sixth goal in stoppage time to complete a dominant away performance.
The 18-year-old earned an impressive 8.8 Sofascore rating and was voted the fans’ player of the match following his influential contribution from the bench.
His pace, movement and clinical finishing caused major problems for a stretched Troyes defence, underlining the attacking threat he can offer Strasbourg as the season progresses.
The victory lifts Strasbourg to sixth place in the early Ligue 1 standings and provides a major confidence boost ahead of their next assignment.
Strasbourg will face a much tougher test against AS Monaco on September 12, with Amo-Ameyaw and his teammates hoping to carry their attacking momentum into the clash against one of the league’s title contenders.
