Fast-rising Ghanaian midfielder Saviour McClintock Kagbetor has taken a major step in his young career after signing his first professional contract with Turkish club Istanbulspor.
The 18-year-old has committed his future to the TFF First League side until the summer of 2031, securing a five-year agreement with the club.
Kagbetor earned the new contract after impressing within Istanbulspor’s youth setup, where he featured prominently for the U18 team and the reserve side.
Istanbulspor officially announced the youngster’s promotion to the professional ranks through their social media platforms.
“We have signed a professional contract with our talented player Saviour McClintock Kagbetor, born in 2008, who wears the shirt of our Istanbulspor Football Academy,” the club announced.
“We welcome our young bull and wish him many successes under our yellow-black jersey.”
The new contract is a reward for Kagbetor’s consistent development and performances since joining the club’s academy.
The Ghanaian youngster is now expected to compete for a place in Istanbulspor’s senior squad as the club prepares for the new TFF First League season.
Istanbulspor are targeting a return to the Turkish Super Lig, and Kagbetor will be hoping to take advantage of the opportunity to establish himself in the first team and play a role in the club’s promotion ambitions.
The teenager’s long-term contract also underlines the club’s confidence in his potential as he continues his development in Turkish football.
