The Minister for Sports and Recreation has commended the Ghana Police Service for its continued commitment to identifying, recruiting and nurturing talented athletes across various sporting disciplines.
The Minister made the remarks during an interaction with officials of the Ghana Volleyball Federation, where he recognised the quality of sporting talents being attracted into the Police Service through its sports recruitment programme.
Among the athletes highlighted were Aishatu Jaffar, popularly known as ‘Ɔdɔ Broni’, Esther Manu and Kazali Abdulai, whose performances and contributions continue to demonstrate the impact of the Service’s investment in sporting talent.
The Minister’s commendation underscores the growing importance of the Ghana Police Service in Ghana’s sports development landscape. Through Police Sports, talented athletes are given an opportunity to pursue their sporting ambitions while also building professional careers within the security service.
For many athletes, the platform provided by the Police Service has become an important pathway to competitive sport, offering the structure, discipline and support needed to excel at both national and international levels.
The recognition is also a strong motivation for the Ghana Police Sports Unit to intensify its efforts in scouting, recruiting and developing promising athletes who can proudly represent the Police Service and Ghana on the international stage.
With its continued investment in sporting talent, the Ghana Police Service remains committed to using sport as a vehicle for excellence, discipline, national pride and professional development.
