National Sports Authority (NSA) Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has stated that he has no intention of pursuing legal action against sports broadcaster Ayitey Powers, saying he has already forgiven him for his actions.
Ampofo Ankrah described the incident as a mistake and believes Powers deserves a second chance.
“I have no interest in pursuing any legal action against Ayitey Powers. In fact, I have already forgiven him because I hold nothing against him personally,” Ampofo Ankrah said.
He added that he does not wish to interfere with ongoing police investigations into the matter, while acknowledging Powers’ expression of remorse, apology and retraction.
“Ayitey Powers just made a mistake and deserves a second chance. Beyond this, I do not wish to obstruct or interfere with the investigations of the police. I have noted his show of remorse, apology and the retraction,” he added.
Ampofo Ankrah’s comments signal his decision to forgive Powers personally while allowing the appropriate authorities to handle any ongoing investigations independently.
