Black Stars Management Committee member Moses Armah has disclosed that each member of the committee received $50,000 as an appearance fee for Ghana's participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking in an interview with Medeama FM, Armah explained that the committee members were paid half of the appearance fee awarded to the players. He clarified that they did not receive any additional per diem, allowances, or winning bonuses throughout the tournament.
"Members of the Black Stars Management Committee received only half of the players' appearance fee, meaning each of us received $50,000. There was no per diem or winning bonus for the committee," Armah revealed.
The veteran football administrator further disclosed that he dedicated part of his appearance fee to supporting pastors who continuously prayed for him and the Black Stars during their World Cup campaign.
Armah's comments come months after Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams announced in October 2025 that members of the Black Stars Management Committee would be financially rewarded for their role in helping Ghana qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, it remains unclear whether the $50,000 appearance fee was part of that reward package or a separate payment.
His revelation also contrasts with what transpired after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, when former Black Stars Management Committee member Alhaji Karim Grusah claimed that committee members shared a total of $100,000.
Ghana enjoyed an impressive campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, surpassing expectations by advancing to the Round of 32 despite entering the tournament as one of the competition's lowest-ranked teams. The Black Stars secured one victory in four matches to book their place in the knockout stage for the first time in a decade.
