Ghana Premier League side Karela United have completed the signing of defender Frank Ackom from lower-division outfit Nsuapon Fidelity ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Anyinase-based club have been active in the transfer market in recent weeks as they look to strengthen their squad and improve their fortunes in the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign.
Karela United officially announced Ackom’s arrival on Friday, confirming that the defender has joined from Nsuapon Fidelity.
“OFFICIAL: Frank Ackom joins Karela United. The defender joins us from Nsuapon Fidelity ahead of the new season.
“We continue to strengthen our backline. Welcome to the Pride and Passion, Frank,” the club announced.
Ackom had already been training with Karela United for some time and was handed the opportunity to feature during their pre-season preparations.
The defender was involved on Wednesday when Karela United defeated Berekum Chelsea in the Sompa Invitational Cup, further demonstrating his readiness to compete at the top-flight level.
According to reports, Ackom has signed a two-year contract with Karela United, officially completing his move to the club.
His arrival is expected to provide additional depth and competition in the defensive department as the club continues to build its squad ahead of the new campaign.
Karela United will be hoping Ackom can settle quickly and play an important role as they target an improved performance in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
