The Ghana Football Association president has described the new partnership with Gold Fields as a major investment in the future of the sport, and thanked the company for backing Ghana football at multiple levels.
“This significant investment will support the Black Stars, Black Queens, the Women’s Premier League, and the Black Challenge,” he said. “It strengthens the growth of women’s football and para-sports across the country.”
He also pointed out that the deal revives a relationship that goes back decades.
“Today’s partnership rekindles a historic connection that played an important role in our football journey more than 20 years ago,” he noted.
Simeon-Okraku thanked Gold Fields Ghana Senior Vice President and Managing Director Elliot Twum and his team for their continued commitment to developing football in Ghana.
“Together, we continue to build for the future of the game,” he added.
The sponsorship is expected to provide substantial financial support while giving a lift to women’s football and para-sports development nationwide.
